Garden Boy Jailed for Raping Employer's Child
The Guruve Regional Magistrates Court has sentenced a 20-year-old man to 45 years in prison for raping his employer's 10-year-old child , three times yesterday
According to the National Prosecution Authority of Zimbabwe, the offender was employed as a gardener at the victim's house.
The first incident occurred while they were alone together at home.
He covered her mouth with a piece of cloth, forced her down, and raped her.
He threatened to kill the child if she revealed the matter after the rape.
The second incident occurred while they were shelling maize together in the kitchen.
He demanded sex from the child, but she refused.
He forced her to the ground, covered her mouth to stop her from screaming, and raped her again.
The third incident occurred on October 20, 2024, around 2 pm.
The offender followed the girl on her way home from school, dragged her into a gum tree plantation, removed her clothes, and raped her.
The abuse ended when the 10-year-old finally confided in her neighbor, leading to the man's arrest.
The overwhelming evidence resulted in his conviction on three counts of rape.
